Trailheads/Parking

  • The Muskegon Lake Nature Preserve is the trailhead on the South End of the Trail.  It is at 2500 Lake Avenue in North Muskegon.  There is plenty of parking there on a gravel surface.  The trail connects with the Muskegon Lakeshore Trail there, that crosses the Muskegon River and follows the  Muskegon Lake shoreline.  The Preserve also has hiking trails along the river.
  • The  McMillan Trailhead is East (off Whitehall Road) on McMillan Road (gravel surface)  It has paved parking with a bench and bike rack.
  • The North End of the Trail ends at White Lake Road and connects to the Whitehall Trail.  One mile up the Whitehall Trail there is parking and restrooms at the Whitehall Library (off of White Lake Road) that is along the Trail. Another 2 miles, you arrive at the Montague Traihead with public parking and restrooms.
  • Additional parking can be found at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church on Whitehall Road .5 mile North from the South end of the Trail.  There is a bench, picnic table, and bike rack with plenty of paved parking.
